Peak Oil and Eating Fossil Fuels

Well, here it is folks, the long anticipated arrival of 2012, and lots is happening around the world: phenomenal reflections external to us, yet inevitably coming from manifestations and processes that are internal to us as individuals. A synergistic collective of I's having vastly different degrees of empathy, ego, and ultimtely, chosen actions or inactions.

Way back at the end of 2003, I discovered an article titled "Eating Fossil Fuels" by Dale Allen Pfeiffer on www.fromthewilderness.com - a website then operated actively by Michael Ruppert. Shortly afterward, Ruppert was set-up by his then girlfriend, his office was ransacked, his equipment was destroyed, and so was his health. Ruppert left the country to find primitive amnesty and left his website pretty much as it was then. He has since returned to the U.S. and has produced "Collapse", what some might call a docu-drama invterview movie, featuring Michael Ruppert. You might be able to watch it here:

Clearly, this article that I share with you here had a profound effect on Ruppert, as well as the power elite organizations who were becoming upset because they want the public to remain asleep to the grave truths concerning the intimate relationship of population-food-water-oil and the shortages that are suddenly here. Worse yet, the media has stimulated arguments, staged on both sides of the issues, in order to keep people bickering, as if over a pro wrestling match. Whatever works to get people's attention to continue imprisoning them. Hopefully this information can help to free you a little more.

I have read Dale Pfeiffer's Eating Fossil Fuels article several times over the years since, and I read it again most recently last week and spent this last week reading and reviewing charts, presentations and lecture content. I finally got my whole awareness around it. I always understood the implications from a pragmatic perspective. I got my head around it from the start, and in many ways has been used as a key factor in my desicions to restructure my life and find safe haven to preserve my genes and memes. But only now, a real permeating fractal has beamed into me, the Big Picture tying all of the other world events, truth movements, wars, militarization, growing police state, FEMA Camps fracking (hydraulic coal-seam gas fracturing), Alberta tar sands, offshore drilling, financial scams, GMO's, land grabs, media and Internet control, chemtrails, vaccines, fluoride, and countless eugenics programs, HAARP, expansion of microwave networks, mind and emotion control, well and of course the media and their TV, TV and more TV. Ever travel to 3rd world countries where people have practically nothing except cell phones and TVs mounted at the top of every wall, where they stand mouth agape.

In an upcoming video on my Inside Jah Vimeo channel (and YouTube), and particularly for those aspiring to the expansion of consciousness, I plan to discuss an excitingly positive overlay to all the frightening lines on all those charts, like Net Hubbard Curve, Oil Well Depletion, Population Growth, Oil Demand Growth, Water Depletion, Grain Deficits, Food Costs, and Time. We're in a lot of trouble folks. Experts are saying things like "The party's over." and "We're toast." Not sure of the title for my video yet, since my original idea has greatly expanded and infiltrated the density of the matrix since while living in my PJs this last week, researching and contemplating. So please subscribe and you'll receive the notice when I post it. In the meanwhile, please take some time to review the article and some of the recommended resources below.

One might really stop to wonder why major grassroots pundits, like Alex Jones, for instance, are not shouting about this? Thank goodness for Vandana Shiva, Chris Martenson, Lester Brown, Nicole Foss, Lidsey Williams, James Howard Kunstler, Bill McKibben and a host of others who are speaking clearly and intelligibly on these critical central issues.

Allergy Rescue Soup

Posted by Jahrun Chilam Balam

Like many others, I have been stuffy & itchy-eyed here, and quite especially today. I think perhaps it is from the last of the autumn pollen anticipating this feeling of a rain that is probably not coming. It hurts my back and lower abs to cough - ugh.

But, I made simple and tasty broth/soup last night and today that both eases the hayfever symptoms greatly as well as brings a cozy self-centering comfort.

Ingredients and directions are as follows:
* 3 cups water near boil then turn off then add:
* 1/2 cup dried seaweed like wakame or arame
* 4 large cloves fresh crushed garlic
* 2 teaspoons fresh crushed/squeezed ginger + juices
* 1 tablespoon good organic soy sauce (tamari or nama shoyu)
* Few dashes of cayenne pepper (1/2 teaspoon if low heat pepper like 30,000)
* 2 teaspoons olive oil

Serve in a rustic, wheel-thrown ceramic mug that fits cozily in your hands.

With the massive amount of chemtrail spraying lately, it is good to consume lots of cayenne or other hot peppers to keep mucosa production going as your first line of defense...

2010.04.20 Cuisine Diary

Photography, food creations and article by Jahrun Chilam Balam 2010.04.20

UPS came and hauled-off the 14 boxes, including my bicycle and gear broken-down into the two 50-pound suitcases. Now counting-down 30 hours until I fly out of here to Fort Smith, Arkansas. Super-boosting my health and immunity for the trip, I have been on triple juice duty using the sixty dollars worth of great bulk produce I got at Wild Thyme Whole Food Market the other on Friday.

Here is a little window on today's juice and other raw culinary delights.

Wild Harvested Tripe Fungus
At the grocery today after a pleasant hike in the local nature preserve with my roomate Tito, I spied some dried, locally harvested, wild tripe fungi (Auricularia mesenterica) in the mushroom section. Excitedly I brought them home and re-hydrated them for a late lunch. Mmmmm what an incredibly wild taste and texture. This, indeed was a treat. The mushrooms were recently dried and they reconstituted nicely soaking in warm water for about 20 minutes. By the time I made the sauce and cleaned everything-up, they were ready.

Today's Juice
Today's 3-meal juice: apple, kale, cilantro, beet, carrot, cucumber, fennel, and ginger. All organically grown of course, and I soaked the ingredients in fresh cold water for 2 hours before juicing.

In the Bowl
In the bowl is the wild tripe (Auricularia mesenterica) mushroom, splashed with organic namashoyu tamari, topped with sweet pea sprouts, a teaspoon of turmeric-habanero sauce, chopped cilantro, local bee pollen.
On the Side
Served on the side of the plate is half a ripe avocado with a dash of ume plum vinegar and a little fresh ground black pepper. I also placed one gorgeous wild tripe mushroom (Auricularia mesenterica) specimen there for you to have a clearer look. This all just turned-out to be a smashing taste and texture sensation, enjoyed with slow and reverent chewing.

Turmeric-Habanero Sauce
The sauce was prepared at high-speed in a regular blender using:
1) quarter-cup of olive oil
2) two fine red habanero peppers
3) bit of ginger
4) four large cloves garlic
5) tablespoon of umeboshi plum vinegar
6) tablespoon of fresh powdered turmeric
7) teaspoon of local honey (sweeten to taste)
8) quarter-cup near boiling water

* I only drizzled one teaspoon piquant sauce on the tripe dish.

Health and Natural Medicine
Everything I have been reading on how to best defend yourself against airborn chemtrail fallout and other particulate/pathogenic sources, include the daily consumption of hot pepper to keep the mucous production up, your first line of internal defense against unwanted inhalants. The mucous is your body's way of saying "Let's get this stuff out before it gets in any deeper!" Stay well hydrated with natural spring water from its natural source.

Capsicum from hot peppers as well as turmeric are proven natural cancer remedies. Additionally, in my bit of research on the tripe fungi I discovered that the UK has long recognized the Auricularia mesenterica, tripe mushroom species as a cancer-curing food.
Enjoy!

What Children Eat at School

Posted by Jahrun Chilam Balam

Written by Jahrun Chilam Balam 2010.04.19

A quick journal entry... from the field...

There is an elementary school across the street here in Ballston Spa. They have a small community recycling drop that includes a giant covered dumpster for cardboard and paper, where the school also dumps its things. Nearly each school day, I watch a man with a hand truck,  wheeling broken-down boxes to the dumpster. So naturally, when I needed a few boxes this morning, I went over there and discovered what most of the boxes had contained: styrofoam lunch trays and all manner of disposable plastic and food-related products from Sysco, Tyson Chicken Chunks, Tyson Turkey Tenders, Tony's Smart Pizzas, cheese steaks, apple turnovers and on, and on.

Do you know that heating, microwaving, preparation and serving of hot foods on Styrofoam and other plastics causes release of massive amounts of xenoestrogens, dioxins and PCB carcinogens that transfers into the food, especially foods having fats and oils? How does this affect the health of children eating these lunches at school 5 days each week? What are most children eating at school? Where does it come from? What are your children eating at school? Why do parents create the illusion of animals, and primarily farm animals, as being cute? Why do parents cutesify them only to force the eating of animals? What exactly are adults teaching their children? What rights do animals have? Are we not firstly animals? What makes us different? What rights do children have? What rights should children have?

As it turns out, children today and historically have had very few active rights. Today, parents have them repeatedly injected with what exactly? Parents feed them with? Parents wipe their anus and genitals with astringent alcohols and carcinogenic chemicals and can't figure-out why they have chronic rash or asthmas. Parents tightly swaddle them in highly toxic and genital-stunting disposable diapers until they are three or four or even five years old. Parents powder and smear them with toxic and irritating "personal care" products. But parents not paying attention. Parents believe labels that tout "Safe for Kids!" People demean children when people refer to children "kids". Parents fatten them up on pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, doughnuts, candy and sugar cereals. Parents dress children and their beds in a sousing melange of toxic laundry substances. Parents spray toxic chemicals in their houses and on the lawn where they crawl. Parents have toxic plug-in synthetic fragrance bombs that dull their minds and sense of smell. Parents further debilitate their natural curiosity for exploration by keeping them in the house out of fear. Parents keep them from experiencing and knowing nature. Parents plug them into electronic games and televisions. Parents distract them with sports and fashions. Parents do everything to stupefy and poison them. Parents do everything to keep them from discovering that there is any other possible concept to living other than what the parents are robotically doing themselves. Are you a parent?

But children do have the present right to hold on to and remember the truths they know and witness as children. They have the successive right to overthrow parents, to overthrow parents self-righteous and belligerent will to remaining ignorant, to overthrow the mechanized ways parents spend their days in the noise of self-perpetuated madness that parents call culture that parents call their "job", and that parents shamefully think of as family and life. The children have the successive right to overthrow parents and their denial of what is truly going on in the world around parents, to overthrow the pain and poisoning they are creating for them and the planet. Children have the successive right to make choices that actually resemble caring and being - unlike parents' madness of daycare bills, schools, jobs, credit cards, mortgages, car loans and mass consumerism.

I pray they will soon, and before parents' poisons sentence them to incapacitated mind and early death.

2010.04.15 Cuisine Diary

Photography, food creations and article by Jahrun Chilam Balam 2010.04.15

Before my bicycle ride today I had an inspiring and colorful lunch, featuring a trillium open-faced sandwich and raw warm borscht.

Warm Raw Borscht
The raw borscht porridge was made in a blender using a small beet, leek, onion, sweet pepper, garlic, ginger, olive oil, umeboshi plum vinegar, black peppercorns and spring water. Upon serving, 3/4 cup porridge was poured in a glass measuring cup and 3/4 cup of near boiling spring water, then rapidly stirred to quickly equalize to a pleasantly warm serving temperature of about 102°F-104°F. I poured the final mixture into a bowl and topped with sprouts and drizzled a curry oil on top.

Open-faced Trillium Sandwich
On the plate are three open faced sandwiches of organic sour dough bread spread thickly with freshly-made hummus mixed-in with tamari and chipotle powder, topped with thinly-sliced onion, tomato, multi-colored sweet peppers, watercress and a pile of sunflower sprouts in the center.

Avocado Salsa on Brown Rice
Later, on returning from today's 28-mile bicycle ride, I used the blender again to make a avocado salsa using almost the same ingredients I used for the borscht, only I used a substituted an avocado instead of a red beet, and added freshly-squeezed juice from one whole lemon, a pinch of Celtic sea salt and half a teaspoon of powdered cayenne pepper. In the bowl I placed a small serving of long-grain brown rice, smothered it with the avocado salsa, topped with a tablespoon of ground panch phoran mixture (panch phoran/sesame/flax/Celtic sea salt), and finally I garnished with sweet pea sprouts and watercress.

Home-grown Sprouts and Greens
Except for the toast and small portion of whole grain brown rice, these dishes are raw and use all organic or home-grown ingredients! It is easy to sprout and grow many foods in a sunny window. Here growing in the light of my window are the sunflower sprouts and the watercress shower and refill with fresh oxygenated water each day.

Enjoy!

Article and compilations by Jahrun Chilam Balam 2010.04.15

Over the last several years, I have awakened to the miracle of water and have been boisterous in sharing my understandings all along. Two nights ago, I was gifted with a real "treat" that has been downloaded into my cerebral cortex computer.

The Natural News daily news letter has been synchronic and instrumental in connecting me with the tools I have needed to raft the whitewater challenges and transitions that have been ongoing in my life these last three years. In less than one minute, you too can connect with the Natural News daily newsletter, and if nothing else, something will catch your eye from time to time that will help you and others you know. Why don't you do that now and then come back to this article?

Without further delay, now I will share this "treat" as part of a compilation of profound highlights to contemplate regarding water. The treat includes a podcast audio interview with Daniel Vitalis by host Mike Adams. After listening intently to this program, I was compelled to learn more about Daniel. I found a series of videos that I list below as "Must Experience".

Those of you who know me, know that many of these things I have already been speaking of these last years. But Daniel Vitalis has presented the concepts in a way that has congealed and permanently affected me. I am fortified, encouraged and committed to my migration toward a feral life.

Panch Phoron (Bengali Five-spice)

Posted by Jahrun Chilam Balam

Nestled in the spice and herb cabinet here in the house I am staying are mysterious relic jars and containers left behind by previous tenants. Last week I discovered one relatively large glass jar half full of a colorful medley of seeds, and on the lid was written Panch Puran. India leaped out as I opened the lid. The aromas stirred my child's culinary curiosities and excitements. In an instant, a fireworks shower of creative visions appeared of how this fantastic assembly of seeds would become an intimate part of my foodie ways.

What is Panch Phoran?
Panch Phoron Ingredients:
1 part nigella (Kalonji or black onion) seeds
1 part black mustard seeds
1 part fenugreek seeds
1 part fennel seeds
1 part cumin seeds

Preparation: Combine all spices in a jar, store away from heat and light.

The Epicentre Encyclopedia of Spices describes Panch Phoron as follows:
The distinct aroma of Bengali cuisine is mostly due to the blend of spices known as panch phoron, or perhaps some other variation on this name (see below). Panch means "five" and phoron is "flavour" or "spice", hence the common translation Bengali Five-Spice". Panch phoron is a colourful blend of flavourful seeds: the green of fennel seed, black mustard seeds, nigella seeds, golden fenugreek seeds and buff-coloured cumin seeds. Some variations may substitute anise for the fennel seeds or wild mustard for cumin, radhuni seed for mustard, and possibly black cumin for nigella. Generally the ingredients are added in equal proportions, though this can vary according to taste.
Panch phoron is usually fried in oil or ghee before adding anything else to the pot, flavouring the oil and releasing the aroma of the oils in the seeds and causing them to pop in the pan. Other ingredients are added at this point, the mixture adding sweetness and bringing forward the flavours of vegetables, fish or lentils.
Raw Cuisine Ideas
There are many recipies out there on the Internet that use this seed mix in the traditional way of quick frying them in oil in a hot wok. However good this may taste, it does not appeal to my increasing shift to eating raw foods. In fact, I believe that the traditional way of frying these seeds until they pop is a sure way to destroy the nutritive and medicinal values. Worse yet, as with any food, subjecting these seeds to a high heat will certainly transmute otherwise healthy substances into nasty carcinogens - i.e. cancer causing substances. Notice below in the Ponch Phoran and Health section the mention of omega-6 and volatile oils... Do you really want to over-heat these and destroy their molecular form, and hence their benefits?

Now I want to take a moment to emphasize that being a raw foodist does not mean that all your food must be cold! Throughout my postings, I will re-emphasize this point over and over to encourage people who are considering becoming vegan raw foodists, so that they are not discouraged by thinking everything "raw" must be served cold. This just simply is not the case.

As a raw foodist, I have discovered that it is relatively simple to achieve a more potent use of spices and herbs simply through grinding and pulverizing them just before adding them to a dish. Using a $20 Krups Fast Touch pulverizing grinder, one that you dedicate for seeds, grains, herbs and spices, does a great job. The added technique of rapidly pulsing and gently shaking the grinder will result in a fluffy and evenly ground mixture. With a little practice, you will intuitively produce mixtures as course or fine as you wish. Let me continue by sharing some of my applications over the last several days.

Imagine using your grinder to pulverize some panch phoron seed mix along with raw sesame seeds, flax seeds, and coarse celtic sea salt. Put the mixture in a little sauce pan and add a little water, raw unrefined organic oil, maybe some umeboshi plum vinegar and then briefly warm the mixture to be no hotter than 104 Fahrenheit (40 Celsius)... warm to the touch... still raw. Yet you still get the benefit of encouraging the release of the nutritive medicines from the seeds into the liquid through a slow, gentle and short-lived heat.

This tasty nutritive sauce can now be added to your raw soup, or ladled over finely slivered raw veggies or salads, sprouts, sprouted grains, beans or quinoa, or even fresh slices of tropical fruit, like a ripe mango! Also, if you're like me, you do embark on some cooked foods as a base from time to time like organic whole-grain rice or organic pasta made from rice, artichoke or buckwheat, or some other low gluten seed or grain. Top your cooked grain or pasta with a sauce, and sprinkle a bit of freshly powdered panch phoron on top.

I have been increasingly enjoying experiments with curries, masalas, and am now delighted to have discovered yet another treat from the East India, Bangladesh region of ancient medicinal and culinary wisdom.

Panch Phoran and Health
The five types of spices used in panch phoran have significant health benefits too.

Cumin Seeds:
  • Cumin seeds have a beneficial effect on the digestive system.
  • Research in animals has indicated that cumin may stimulate the secretion of pancreatic enzymes, important factors in proper digestion and nutrient assimilation. As with other carminative spices, cumin's digestive stimulating effects are due to its volatile oils.
  • Cumin seeds may also have anticancer properties.
  • Cumin has shown to enhance liver's detoxification enzymes.
  • See also: http://www.herbreference.com/cumin.html
Mustard Seeds:
  • Mustard is a good source of selenium and magnesium. Selenium helps people with asthma and rheumatoid arthritis while magnesium lowers high blood pressure, reduces migraines and also prevents heart attack.
  • Mustard seeds are also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids as well as iron, calcium, zinc, manganese, magnesium, protein, niacin and dietary fiber.
  • The essential oil Tocopherols present in mustard inhibits growth of certain yeasts, molds, and bacteria, enabling mustard to function as a natural preservative.
  • See also http://www.herbreference.com/mustard_seeds.html
Fenugreek Seeds:
  • The seeds of the fenugreek plant are known to be great cleansers of the system.
  • They are have a beneficial impact on the digestive tract, stomach, respiratory infections, blood sugar and diabetes.
  • It also reduces cholesterol.
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine recommends fenugreek for treating arthritis and asthma.
  • When looking for this, it may be labeled as Methi.
  • See also http://www.herbreference.com/fenugreek.html
Fennel Seeds:
  • Fennel acts as a digestive, appetite enhancer.
  • It is considered very marginally diuretic.
  • The seeds are supposedly laxative and an aphrodisiac.
  • Fennel seed is also lends itself to excellent respiratory tonics.
  • Fennel is very effective in reducing acidity.
  • Fennel is very popular spice in india available at any indian spice shop.
  • See also http://www.herbreference.com/fennel_seed.html

Nigella / Kalonji Seeds / Black Onion Seeds:
  • Kalonji seeds have been know to have many healing properties including migraine, chronic colds, palpitations, alopecia, asthma, bee stings, paralysis, amnesia, skin disorders, facial palsy, earache and respiratory diseases.
  • It is also known to benefit the stomach because of its anti-bacterial properties.

MoveOn - Take a Stand Day

Posted by Jahrun Chilam Balam

Entry Salvaged from defunct Zaadz/Gaia BLOG

Two nights ago I attended the Take a Stand Day at a local church here in Reading, PA, an event coordinated through MoveOn.org. I wanted to get a sampling of peace and protest perspective here in my area.

Guest speaker after guest speaker voiced their melodramas over federal budget, paling VA benefits, lost sons, wrongness of the war. A mother and daughter spoke to promote the food bank at the church, their face and jowls fusing almost without a neck into their shoulders, each respectively 100 to 150 pounds overweight.

Sitting in the front pew, immersed in a growing singe of topical and inhalant irritation from perfumes and colognes, I turned around the room to see the unhealthiness of everyone. Feeling light-headed and a growing burning sensation on my skin, I rose-up to leave the event.

Last night I received a follow-up email soliciting my survey of the event and felt so compelled to voice in contrast to my witness of public perspective, a radically different perspective in my reply.

The current geo-political militarization, looming police state, declining economical and biospheric conditions directly reflect a sickness of the pervading necro-consumer greed of INDIVIDUAL people.

Individuals are poisoning themselves, their children, and the Earth. They support a monoculturism of fast food, housing, animals and plants. They continue fueling their cars, thereby voting with each dollar to fuel and support the engine whose destruction they say they want to stop.

To pull the plug on war, the people must radically change their lifestyle in order to get underneath the problem. Shouting at and protesting the undesirable manifestations surfacing from the core problem will not make the problem go away.

Individuals must increasingly turn-off their TVs, grow their own food, stop poisoning themselves with the chem-pharma "pay to get sick and then pay for drugs" scam. Stop buying bottled water and do not drink from the public water supply. Stop applying topical agents to their skin, stop buying "fragranced" laundry, personal care products and all manner of air toxifiers. They must start buying organic produce grown locally. Stop eating meat, fish and poultry! Start practicing yoga and meditation. They must start exercising and riding bike or walking everywhere possible up to 15 mile radius. They must learn to know the natural aspects of where they live and feel the need to restore nature there. They must educate themselves more highly to know the "truth" and take right action, then be at peace.
